France Boosts Security for Crypto Investors Amid Kidnapping Wave
French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau convened emergency talks with cryptocurrency executives following a surge in violent crimes targeting digital asset investors. The government unveiled a three-pronged security plan: enhanced police patrols near crypto holders’ residences, specialized safety training for families conducted by tactical units, and a dedicated emergency hotline.
"We will treat these attacks with the same resolve as we did bank heists in the past," Retailleau declared during the crisis meeting. The measures come as criminals increasingly target crypto-wealthy individuals, mirroring historical patterns seen during Gold rushes or diamond market booms.
While no specific cryptocurrencies were named in the security plan, the initiative covers all digital asset holders. Market analysts note such protective measures could improve institutional adoption by reducing operational risks for high-net-worth investors.
